About The Position

We are seeking a 2026 Summer Engineering Intern to join our engineering team. As a Corporate Engineering Intern, you will work alongside experienced engineering professionals on a variety of product development and validation projects. This internship provides hands-on engineering experience, technical skill development, and exposure to real-world engineering challenges in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a four-year university engineering program.
  • Strong academic performance and familiarity with engineering software (e.g. Creo, SolidWorks).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Has a basic understanding of FEA and fatigue life analysis
  • Basic understanding of D.C. circuits & hydraulic fluid power principles
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Must be self-motivated, have a high sense of urgency, be able to problem solve complex situations, be resourceful.
  • Be a team player working with co-workers, other departments and/or other TBEI facilities.
  • The focus is on meeting company goals and initiatives.
  • Enjoys solving complex problems and values taking on new responsibilities and initiatives
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to walk and stand on concrete in a variety of positions including but not limited to kneeling, crouching, bending, twisting, turning, and occasionally climbing.
  • Lift up to 25lbs unassisted.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

  • Product Design: Engineer components and systems to meet customer needs, collaborating with cross-function teams from concept to production.
  • Simulation/Performance Analysis: Finite Element Analysis (FEA), 3D modeling
  • Test/Validation: Apply mechanical engineering knowledge in a hands-on environment in physical product validation testing with strain gauges and various sensors
  • Diagnostics: Work with engineers and technicians to diagnose and resolve design related problems
