If so, we may have a role for you. We are looking to expand our Corporate Development team by adding an M&A Analyst for the 2023 summer who will be responsible for providing analytical support and market research on active transactions and other strategic initiatives. This position provides unique experience through exposure to corporate strategy and is highly visible to the senior management team. This intern will assist in valuation analyses, preparing presentations for potential investments or strategic initiatives, conducting industry or investment target research as well as assisting with corporate strategic execution across Colibri. Located in our corporate office in Downtown St. Louis (The Foundry); typical hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the flexibility to work additional hours as required depending on the number of active projects and their deadlines.

Requirements

  • Proven academic record with a minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0
  • Candidate can be an undergraduate or in pursuit of an MBA
  • Accounting, Business, Economics or Finance concentrations are preferred, but not mandatory
  • Strategic thinking and demonstrated intellectual curiosity
  • Interest in mergers and acquisitions
  • Analytical mind with the ability to synthesize information from a variety of sources to help identify market trends and opportunities, understand strategic risks and help evaluate potential acquisitions and new business investments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products preferred
  • Proven track record of persistence, sound judgement and ability to work effectively within a dynamic work setting
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and multitask while remaining committed to quality and timeliness of work product
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment and develop strong working relationships with people at varying levels
  • Good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial analyses, valuation, business cases and pro-forma financials for existing businesses and potential new businesses and services
  • Assist on M&A projects, including valuation, due diligence, process management, etc.
  • Conduct market research, source M&A targets and assist with preparing recommendations and presentations for potential acquisitions, investments and other strategic initiatives to the senior management team
  • Learn analytical skills through direct exposure to our Head of M&A and Director of Corporate Development, both with prior experience in investment banking and private equity
