We are currently seeking a qualified individual for the following opportunity CORPORATE COUNSEL, CONTRACTS We are searching for a candidate who wants to develop his/her career within a P&C company specializing in program business in partnership with program administrators and reinsurers. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter that wants to learn and develop from a team of experts across all aspects of the program business. Responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of contracts, advising on coverage issues, and managing litigation.

Requirements

J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school
5+ years experience within the insurance and/or reinsurance industry with a focus on property and casualty insurance products and contracts
Excellent analytic, technical and problem-solving skills
The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
Proven communication, written, presentation and organizational skills
Desire to work independently and cross-functionally as a team in striving environment

Nice To Haves

Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or insurance an asset

Responsibilities

Prepare, review, analyze, interpret, and negotiate various Program Contracts, including but not limited to QSAs, PAAs, and TPAs, as well as endorsements or amendments, utilizing AI programs as necessary in the course of said reviews.
Monitor for and handle contract-based Program disputes with partners and opposing parties.
Coordinate with and support other business units, including Accounting, Client Services, Claims and Reinsurance, with respect to contract-based guidance and interpretation
Oversight of new and runoff contracts
Provide training for team attorneys and support personnel in the area of reinsurance
Maintain contracts and ensure proper documentation for renewals and existing contracts
Legal support of underwriting, accounting, claims oversight, and other groups that will need assistance in addressing aspects of insurance law
Other duties as assigned based on business need and priorities
