About The Position

The Corporate Counsel - Sales supports the company’s legal operations in a variety of matters, with a focus that includes customer contract negotiations, negotiating and drafting other transactional matters, general corporate matters, corporate governance, internal corporate policies and procedures, along with drafting and negotiating other transactional matters including managing books and record keeping.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school with strong academic credentials
• Admission to the Bar of a U.S. state or the District of Columbia
• Three or more years of legal experience as a practicing lawyer working in a general corporate transactional practice
• Hands-on, self-starter who is disciplined and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently as well as in a team setting that requires a highly accurate and timely work product
• Agile and versatile; comfortable with new and unfamiliar subject matter; easily adaptable to change
• Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
• Enterprising and entrepreneurial
• Able to take initiative with no direction
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong listening, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Strong work ethic and accountability to deadlines
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving business environment
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel), Box, Workday, DocuSign

Responsibilities

• Overseeing general corporate legal matters
• Negotiating and drafting customer contracts as well as various other transactional matters
• Manage customer-related legal issues
• Provide practical legal guidance on sales-related matters
• Assisting with legal and regulatory compliance
• Assisting with corporate governance matters
• Assisting with compliance with various domestic and international privacy laws
• Assisting with the company’s data security program as they intersect with customer agreements
• Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline contracting
• Assisting with management of the Company’s insurance program and operations
• Performing a broad range of legal matters and general business matters based on the needs of the company, as assigned.
• Working with and managing outside counsel, counterparties, insurers, and other third parties as needed
