Expedia Group is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join its Legal Team, supporting the EG B2B organization. In this role, you will have a mix of transactional work (supporting, among other teams, the activities business) and product work (including counsel for our white label template products). You will handle a wide range of complex, commercial transactions and partner closely with fast-paced business, product, and technology teams to provide practical legal advice on product development, new business models, contract interpretation, regulatory issues, and risk management across multiple jurisdictions. This position is part of the Expedia Legal and Corporate Affairs team based in Seattle – a globally oriented legal team that is proactive, collaborative, and highly respected, where you can work closely with internal clients in an exciting and challenging environment.

Requirements

  • J.D. degree and membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar (Washington preferred).
  • 5-8 years’ relevant legal experience at a top regional or national law firm and/or in a fast-paced in-house environment.
  • Strong transactional background, with substantial experience negotiating, drafting, and reviewing complex commercial agreements, ideally involving technology, e-commerce, or platform businesses.
  • Exceptionally strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working closely with product and technology teams and providing practical, risk-balanced advice in an agile environment.
  • Comfortable working on cross-border matters; international experience and advising on expansion into new markets is a strong plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, sound judgment, strong interpersonal skills, and a collaborative work ethic.
  • Proven ability to manage a wide range of complex matters with minimal supervision, prioritize effectively, and drive issues to resolution.
  • Track record of establishing strong working relationships with business stakeholders and colleagues within a legal department or law firm.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, including supply, distribution, marketing, technology, and other complex B2B and B2B2C arrangements.
  • Serve as product counsel, advising on legal compliance, product design, go-to-market strategies, terms and conditions, and ongoing product lifecycle issues.
  • Advise on expansion into new markets, including assessing legal and regulatory requirements and supporting localization of product experiences.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of complex, commercial and technology agreements.
  • Provide clear, timely advice to business, product and tech teams on commercial, regulatory, consumer protection, marketing, and other relevant legal issues, including managing pre-litigation disputes where needed.
  • Develop and implement scalable legal tools and processes, including playbooks, templates, fallback positions, and training materials to support a growing, global business.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (including tax, treasury, regulatory, privacy, security, compliance, finance, and IP) to deliver coordinated and practical legal guidance.
  • Manage and interface with outside counsel, including responsibility for matter scoping and budget management.
  • Provide proactive legal education and training to internal teams on key risk areas, contractual standards, and best practices relevant to B2B and product work.
