About The Position

The Corporate Controller is a senior finance leader responsible for enterprise-wide accounting integrity, consolidated financial reporting, and oversight of all plant-level finance operations. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role serves as the operational finance leader of the organization, ensuring financial accuracy, internal control strength, and disciplined financial execution across all business units. The Corporate Controller provides direct oversight of Plant Controllers across all operating locations, standardizes financial processes, and ensures consistency in reporting, job costing, revenue recognition, and balance sheet integrity. This individual acts as the CFOs primary partner in managing financial operations, integrations, and process optimization initiatives. Salary range $125,000-$225,000 a year. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance; CPA strongly preferred
  • 812+ years progressive accounting experience
  • Minimum 35 years leading multi-location or plant-based finance teams
  • Strong manufacturing, construction, or project-based accounting experience
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP and WIP accounting
  • ERP experience required (Business Central or similar preferred)
  • Proven leadership of distributed teams

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Consolidation Oversee consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting across all entities
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and accurate revenue recognition (including WIP and project-based accounting)
  • Lead the enterprise month-end close process and enforce standardized timelines
  • Prepare executive-level and board-ready financial reporting packages
  • Plant Controller Oversight & Multi-Location Leadership Directly supervise and mentor all Plant Controllers
  • Standardize plant-level reporting, controls, and close procedures
  • Review plant P&Ls, WIP schedules, inventory valuation, and balance sheet reconciliations monthly
  • Drive plant-level accountability for job margin accuracy, DSO, inventory turns, and working capital metrics
  • Lead monthly plant financial reviews in partnership with Operations leadership
  • Ensure consistency in retainage accounting, accruals, and cost allocations
  • Accounting Operations & Cost Control Oversee general ledger, cost accounting, fixed assets, and inventory
  • Ensure integrity of standard costing and production variance analysis
  • Maintain strong internal controls across all locations
  • Oversee capital expenditure accounting and depreciation policies
  • Internal Controls & Risk Management Maintain a robust internal control framework across corporate and plant operations
  • Prepare organization for external audits and lender reviews
  • Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Process Improvement & Systems Optimization Lead ERP optimization and financial system enhancements
  • Drive automation and reporting improvements
  • Lead financial integration of acquisitions
  • Implement dashboards and KPI reporting across the enterprise
  • Strategic Finance Support Support the CFO in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
  • Analyze financial performance and recommend operational improvements
  • Assist in lender reporting and compliance requirements
