Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration (or equivalent experience)
8+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong communicator — able to present to senior leadership and the Board
Ability to translate complex financial concepts for non-accounting audiences
Proven experience managing audits, reporting, AP/AR, and general ledger
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Analytical, solution-focused mindset
Strong supervisory and leadership abilities
Delegation and strategic foresight
Experience with financial reporting software and ERP systems
Strong financial acumen with ability to assess strategic impact

Nice To Haves

CPA preferred
Experience with ERP systems preferred (Great Plains is a plus)

Responsibilities

Direct the accounting department with a structure built for box office success
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close — delivering accurate, timely, GAAP-compliant financial statements
Provide variance analysis worthy of a critic’s deep dive
Oversee consolidations across divisions (because every franchise must align)
Analyze budget-to-actual performance and support the FP&A production team
Star in technical accounting cameos (leases, revenue recognition, impairments, and more)
Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems with GAAP precision
Supervise Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, payroll, treasury, and fixed assets
Ensure timely payments and collections — no cliffhangers here
Keep the chart of accounts in award-winning order
Manage vendor relationships like trusted production partners
Oversee capital expenditure tracking and construction accounting
Maintain and strengthen internal controls across accounting and treasury
Safeguard assets and mitigate fraud risk
Coordinate the annual audit (supporting external auditors like co-producers)
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Oversee financial reporting requirements and tax filings
Oversee accounting system integrity and explore ERP enhancements
Champion automation and AI tools to increase efficiency and accuracy
Maintain clean, reliable data across financial systems
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team
Create a positive, supportive work environment
Establish performance standards and accountability
Build bench strength and succession plans for long-term franchise success
