About The Position

The Corporate Chef, Sales manages and oversees foodservice sales activities in the U.S. by leveraging culinary expertise and industry knowledge to build client relationships and deliver exceptional results. The position also acts as Corporate Chef extending culinary support to the MS Foodservice customers.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher in culinary and/or related field.
  • 5+ years of culinary sales experience in the food industry.
  • Experience in calling on chain accounts food distributor is required.
  • The individual must be able to communicate effectively with customers' Purchasing, Technical, and Culinary representatives.
  • The individual must be proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to work independently in cross-functional teams to meet set goals.
  • A valid driver’s license is required to perform essential job functions.
  • The position requires extensive travel to meet business needs, with at least 50% or more of the time conducting customer visits in the field.

Nice To Haves

  • A background or experience as an Executive Chef is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drives profitability by developing sales opportunities and implementing strategic selling plans for mainstream foodservice accounts.
  • Builds strong client relationships with key accounts by delivering compelling and informative culinary sales presentations, demonstrating product knowledge and culinary expertise, and fostering partnerships through effective negotiation and deal-closing.
  • Conducts culinary activities, including menu gap analyses, concept development, and culinary presentations.
  • Identifies market trends and develops high-quality products and services that effectively meet the needs of the market.
  • Maintains industry knowledge by staying up to date with current food industry trends and practices.
  • Enhances brand reputation by representing the company at trade meetings, food shows, trade shows, and other events to promote products, engage with potential clients, and perform culinary demonstrations as needed.
  • Directs sales forecast activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
  • Review market analyses to determine customer needs.
  • Monitors accounts receivable and sales transactions.
  • Prepares reports, presentations, and budgets to top management.
  • Monitors and evaluates competitor activity and products.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
