About The Position

As a Corporate Catering Sales Manager at Estancia La Jolla, you will be responsible for providing complete account management for assigned territory goal to include corporate meetings and events. Respond to all incoming leads and RFPs to secure opportunities for available hotel event spaces. Provide detailed proposals in a high-volume environment. Outline available event venues, pricing minimums and rental fees with timely response to clients. Meet with clients for site tours to secure potential bookings, Develop long-term relationships with clients by maintaining consistent verbal and written communication, attention to detail and customer service in a luxury market. Partner with clients to plan function details, upsell food, beverage, and room rental to meet sales goals. Maintain detailed information about clients and enter data into property computer systems. Prepare correspondence to customers and hotel department operations managers to include Banquet Event Orders, Group Resumes, and Diagrams. Serve as onsite liaison during event functions with clients and operations team. Approve final billing. Attend Business Review and Department Meetings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality desired.
  • At least one-year related sales experience in a similar sized hotel/resort or winery operation.
  • Solid knowledge of hotel service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
  • Ability and experience in successfully selling and working in a high volume, time sensitive environment.
  • Ability to learn, follow and maintain effective sale processes designed to attain maximum revenue.
  • Completes all required training as scheduled.
  • Strong knowledge of sales techniques with strong skills and ability to negotiate and close sales.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn and operate other hotel computer systems.
  • Ability to work on AM, PM, weekend and holiday shifts as required by operational needs.
