We are seeking a CORPORATE ATTORNEY to join our team in Roseville, Minnesota. Our Corporate Attorney serves as our in-house counsel and is responsible for handling all complex legal matters and projects. They specialize in contracts, leases, transportation law, employment law and litigation. They ensure the legality of the companies transactions and advise our team on legal rights and duties.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Minnesota
  • Minimum of 7 years with a law firm or in-house legal counsel
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to the transportation of goods, including maintaining all required permits and licenses
  • Basic knowledge of insurance law and understanding auto, general liability, workers' compensation, and other related insurance policies held by the company
  • Required primary areas of legal practice include but are not limited to: Labor and Employment law; Business Contracts (negotiation, preparation, and analysis); Corporate governance; litigation support; state and federal regulatory agencies; real estate - lease and purchase and Insurance law and policy analysis

Responsibilities

  • Advise in the management of Corporate governance and compliance
  • Act as a trusted strategic partner to internal stakeholders, balancing business objectives with legal risk and compliance
  • Provide legal guidance and counsel to corporate departments of human resources, safety, claims, accounting and the transportation, distribution and warehousing of goods
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws, including timely filing various state and federal authority filings
  • Analysis, negotiation or preparation of contracts with customers, independent contractors, vendors, business partners, the US Government and US Military
  • Maintain relationships with and provide support to outside legal counsel representing the Company in litigation matters
  • Prepare real estate and motor vehicle leases and provide analysis of leases from vendors, landlords or other third parties
  • Provide legal assistance to managers at the home office and the other locations throughout the United States
