About The Position

This role provides legal guidance and support to the company on contracts, compliance, and corporate matters. The position serves as the company’s primary in-house attorney and works independently to identify legal risks, review agreements, and ensure company practices comply with applicable laws. This is a hands-on role focused on commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and managing outside counsel. The position advises senior leadership on legal implications.

Requirements

  • JD and active bar membership
  • 8+ years of corporate or commercial legal experience
  • Experience drafting and negotiating complex contracts
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Experience interacting with senior management
  • Practical, business-minded approach

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal guidance to senior management on contracts and company practices
  • Identify legal risks and recommend practical solutions
  • Research and interpret applicable laws and regulations
  • Advise on legal implications of operational decisions
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements
  • Support sales, procurement, and business teams with contract review
  • Maintain and improve contract templates and processes
  • Ensure consistency and risk alignment across agreements
  • Monitor and interpret relevant laws and regulations
  • Ensure company practices comply with applicable requirements
  • Support regulatory filings and corporate recordkeeping
  • Oversee corporate insurance policies
  • Provide legal guidance to HR on employment law matters
  • Review HR policies and practices for legal compliance
  • Advise on investigations and workplace risk when needed
  • Coordinate with outside counsel on disputes and claims
  • Gather information and documentation related to legal matters
  • Support litigation strategy and settlement discussions
  • Manage external legal spend within approved budget
  • Maintain corporate legal documents and filings
  • Coordinate with external counsel on patents and trademarks
  • Support due diligence and documentation if the company engages in a sale or transaction
  • Oversee the Contracts & Compliance Manager
  • Ensure timely and consistent contract review processes
  • Improve legal workflows and documentation systems
