About The Position

The Corporate and Foundation Relations Manager is a member of TCR’s development team and will play a key role in our fundraising and relationship building efforts to sustain and grow our impact in empowering and employing MN’s diverse workforce. Key duties include creating and implementing a fundraising plan for corporate and foundation giving, managing an annual grant plan and calendar, writing grant narratives, and effectively utilizing Salesforce to track and report on funder relationships and fundraising goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of fundraising and grant writing experience, with proven success securing funding.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills to convey the mission of TCR to funders, board members, and other stakeholders who are important to the organization’s fundraising success.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and practices in the development profession.
  • Knowledge of grant writing standards and research techniques for prospect research.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to achieve results both individually and with others.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to manage priorities to ensure work is completed in a timely and productive manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in oral and written communication on an interpersonal or group level, including effective listening and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to work with a positive outlook in a changing environment, quickly adjusting key priorities in response to the ever-changing dynamics of the organization.
  • High degree of confidentiality, diplomacy, discretion, and tact.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use computer and other technical resources to effectively accomplish work.

  • Must have access to a personal vehicle.
  • Must have a valid, current driver’s license and proof of valid insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Create, manage, and maintain an annual fundraising plan for corporate and foundation giving.
  • Research, write, and submit compelling grant applications, LOIs, and other funding requests.
  • Review grant guidelines, assess eligibility, and determine feasibility of prospective funders.
  • Establish and maintain meaningful relationships with a portfolio of funders.
  • Discover and cultivate funders through email, phone, meetings, and site visits.
  • Steward funders through gift recognition, thank you cards, and sharing the TCR story.
  • Maintain grant records and monitor grant compliance deliverables and regulations.
  • Utilize Salesforce to access and enter data, drive strategy, and report on fundraising goals.
  • Manage sponsorship strategy including writing and developing event sponsorship collateral.
  • Work closely with finance and program staff on narratives, initiatives, budgets, and reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with the Government Grants Manager on grant narratives.
  • Work with the Individual Donor Relations Manager on communications calendar.
  • Work with Events Manager to plan and execute fundraising events.
  • Work with the Marketing/Communications team to produce fundraising materials.
  • Work with Director of Development to establish a culture of philanthropy at the organization.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all funders, prospective funders, and volunteers.
