About The Position

Corporate Affairs proactively manages social, political and reputational risks and engages the workforce to advance the business. We strengthen Chevron's strategic advocacy, communications, and social investments to build confidence in our company and industry. Communications Supports and achieves Chevron’s goals by telling our story to key audiences to build an understanding of our industry and confidence in our knowledge, expertise and ability to achieve results the right way. We are seeking a candidate(s) who can effectively create communications that engage external and internal audiences through media relations, social/digital media, and internal communications. Policy and Government Affairs L eads and influences policy development and advocacy on behalf of the corporation with key public stakeholders at the state, federal and international government levels. We are seeking a candidate(s) with an awareness of the implications of the US political structure and environment in which the energy sector operates . Also seeking experience in federal an d /or international policy as well as an understanding of legislative and regulatory processes within the United States at the state and federal levels .

Requirements

  • To qualify, individuals must be a rising senior or graduate student and have or be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree aligned with our functional areas.
  • To be considered for this position, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, asylee, refugee, or lawful permanent resident.

Responsibilities

  • Support tasks related to corporate media relations, employee communications, executive communications, digital and social media engagement, events and brand management.
  • A nalyze policy/regulatory issues in countries where Chevron operates .
  • Provide support on advocacy initiatives on Chevron’s positions before government, trade, and other third - party organizations.
  • Track and report on key U.S. and foreign policy issues in specific regions.
  • When directed, prepare responses to outside inquiries on Chevron's positions on issues, and attend briefings and congressional hearings on foreign and domestic policy, legislative, or regulatory matters.
