The Corporate Accounting Manager, reporting to the VP, Corporate Controller, oversees key aspects of the corporate close and external reporting support processes, ensuring all accounting activities are executed accurately, timely, and in compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC requirements, and company policies. This role partners cross-functionally with finance, FP&A, tax, treasury, internal audit, and external auditors to support monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles for a publicly traded company. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, technically strong accounting professional with experience in public company reporting, internal controls, and complex accounting matters. Requirements

  • Skills and Abilities Business partner – ability to work with and influence both internal and external partners
  • Expert knowledge of financial concepts, GAAP accounting and financial corporate governance

  • Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or a related field (required).
  • Seven or more years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or a related field (required).

  • Process improvement experience
  • Computer Skills Advanced: Microsoft Office suite Intermediate: Database, JD Edwards
  • Certificates and Licenses Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (required).

Responsibilities

  • Support the month end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, eliminations and consolidations and ensure that areas of responsibility are completed accurately and in a timely manner in line with company deadlines
  • Lead accounting operations and process improvement initiatives for one of our geographic regions, partnering with local and corporate teams to enhance controls, standardize processes, and support accurate and timely financial close under US GAAP
  • Drive internal and external reporting, including SEC filings under Forms 10-K and 10-Q and the quarterly earnings release
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and ensure transactions are accounted for in line with company policy and US GAAP
  • Coordinate with the external auditors for the quarterly reviews and annual audit
  • Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls and SOX compliance for all areas of responsibility
  • Champion operational improvements (including systems implementations) and process simplification within the organization to drive growth, enhance efficiency, and eliminate complexity
  • Work collaboratively with internal business partners to develop and implement enhanced internal reporting, including working with IT to upgrade financial systems
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items
  • Analyze financial results and explain period-over-period variances to leadership
  • Assist with implementation of new accounting standards, policies, and process improvements
  • Lead, develop, and mentor accounting staff and other members of the finance team
