About The Position

The Department of Educational Psychology is hiring two (2) Core Teaching Faculty position openings in MPCAC-accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) program. Core teaching faculty contribute to the CMHC program through teaching, training, supervision, and program administration. These are 9-month positions with potential for summer teaching as available. The successful candidate will: Teach master’s level counseling courses Serve as a core faculty member and attend department and program-related functions (e.g., program faculty meetings), and Provide administrative service to the program. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in graduate level teaching and program administration. The program has a strong commitment to culturally informed and equitable care. Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher in counseling or related field
  • License eligible at Master's or Doctoral level

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral degree in counseling psychology or related
  • Prior experience with administration of graduate level programs
  • Experience with graduate level teaching and clinical supervision
  • Familiarity with MPCAC accreditation standards

Responsibilities

  • Provides classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction, including grading
  • Presents evaluations of teaching methods and techniques to those in the institution and elsewhere
  • Develops teaching techniques that enhance course effectiveness in alignment with desired outcomes and established strategy and trains faculty and other instructional staff in use of said instructional techniques and programs
  • Assesses learner performance and prepares reports recommending instructional improvements
  • Designs curriculum and/or techniques for instruction in a disciplinary area and suggests new ways of effective instruction in courses within that discipline
  • Assists in defining the objectives of the program and plays a major role in carrying out program duties
  • May administer budget and personnel for instructional grants and programs
  • Develops grant proposals for instructional development and may serve as principal or co-principal investigator on grants to develop new teaching methods in the discipline
  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of work unit employees involved in instructional support as needed
