About The Position

The Core Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting, analyzing, and enhancing the Credit Union’s core processing system and its integrated applications. This role provides hands-on experience in system configuration, automation scripting, and process improvement. The analyst will collaborate with IT and business units to ensure the Credit Union’s systems operate efficiently, securely, and in alignment with organizational goals. This position is ideal for someone with a strong technical foundation, an interest in financial systems, and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL (queries, joins, data analysis).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn new systems and tools quickly and independently.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a credit union or financial institution environment.
  • Understanding of API integrations and system automation concepts.
  • Basic understanding of networking, database concepts, or IT security principles.
  • Foundational understanding of PowerShell, Java, SQL, or XML scripting.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, configure, and support the Credit Union’s core processing system and related applications.
  • Develop, test, and maintain automation and batch scripts using tools to streamline processes.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries and reports to extract, validate, and analyze data.
  • Collaborate with business units to document functional requirements and assist in implementing configuration changes.
  • Assist with system upgrades, patching, and testing to ensure smooth deployment.
  • Support system integration projects with third-party vendors.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, procedures, and system workflows.
  • Participate in disaster recovery testing and ensure system integrity and uptime.
  • Stay current with updates, releases, and best practices for core system platforms.
