The Core Program Administrator is responsible for administering and standardizing the remanufacturing core program for transmission components. This role ensures effective core utilization, scrap prevention, and process standardization while supporting New Product Development (NPD) and technical teams. The position serves as a key program execution role, bridging Operations, Reverse Logistics, Purchasing, and technical functions to protect cost, improve agility, and enable scalable growth.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2+ years in remanufacturing, operations, training, or documentation roles.
  • Experience in remanufacturing, manufacturing operations, reverse logistics, or process administration
  • Strong understanding of standard work, process control, and operational discipline
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Technical, Purchasing, and NPD teams
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Experience working within ERP or manufacturing systems preferred
  • Ability to work in and around a manufacturing environment and have no restrictions on wearing safety footwear and protective eyewear.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Able to wear (without restrictions) required personal protective equipment including safety eyewear and footwear
  • Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven ability to create clear, accurate, and visual work instructions from direct floor observation.
  • Strong knowledge of document control practices and revision management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic photo editing or annotation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express).
  • Proficiency using a digital camera or smartphone for documentation purposes.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or standard work documentation is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Core Program Administration & Governance
  • Administer the remanufacturing core program, including core flow oversight, core usage tracking, and program compliance.
  • Maintain visibility of incoming customer cores and ensure recoverable cores are prioritized prior to initiating new core purchases.
  • Act as a control point between reverse logistics and purchasing to prevent unnecessary or premature core procurement.
  • Process Standardization & Scrap Prevention
  • Lead the revamp and maintenance of work instructions related to core handling, inspection, storage, and usage.
  • Partner with Operations and Quality to standardize processes that reduce core damage, scrap, and variability.
  • Monitor core condition trends and identify corrective actions to improve yield and consistency.
  • Reverse Logistics & Cross-Functional Support
  • Coordinate reverse-logistics activities to support timely and effective core recovery.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for core-related coordination with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Communicate core availability and constraints to support production planning and customer commitments.
  • NPD & Technical Support
  • Support New Product Development efforts by defining core requirements, handling standards, and recovery strategies for new programs.
  • Collaborate with Technical teams to ensure core processes align with remanufacturing specifications and product changes.
  • Ensure core readiness and standardization are in place prior to new product launches.
  • Continuous Improvement and standardization
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or risks within the core program and implement improvements to increase process agility.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost avoidance, scrap reduction, and operational scalability.
  • Maintain program documentation and ensure alignment with evolving operational and technical needs.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
