Weâre adding Core Platform Engineers to help build the foundations that power everything at Grid. Youâll work across infrastructure, data, and core financial systems â partnering with product and engineering to design the platforms behind our user experiences. From distributed systems to cloud tooling, youâll own critical components that scale with the company and directly impact how our products perform in the real world. Requirements

Backend Systems Experience: You have real experience building and operating production backend systems, ideally in Go on cloud infrastructure like GCP, and are comfortable owning services that must be reliable, scalable, and performant.
Data-Driven Backend Systems: Proven experience building and operating backend systems that are deeply informed by data, designing clean data models, instrumenting services with meaningful metrics, and using analytics to guide system and product decisions.
Cloud Experience: Youâve built production systems on major cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, or Azure, with real ownership over infrastructure and service reliability.

Domain Knowledge: Background in fintech, financial infrastructure, or security-focused systems is a strong plus, but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

Systems Development: Youâll build the core systems behind Gridâs products. From transaction processing and financial ledgers to the infrastructure that powers everything we ship. Your work will sit at the foundation of the platform and directly shape how our products scale and perform.
Shipping & Iteration: Youâll own systems end to end â from design and implementation through deployment and production support â using our rapid CI/CD pipeline to ship improvements daily. We take a data-driven, iterative approach to building toward ambitious goals through well-engineered, incremental releases.
Data Analysis: Grid is deeply data-driven, with robust pipelines and analytics infrastructure across the platform. Youâll use SQL and analytical tools to evaluate product and system performance and help define what success looks like by shaping the metrics that guide our decisions.
Event-Driven Distributed Systems: Gridâs backend is built around Pub/Sub and asynchronous workflows. Youâll design and operate distributed, event-driven systems; reasoning about state, consistency, and failure modes to deliver reliable, seamless user experiences at scale.
Infrastructure & Architecture Ownership: Youâll actively shape Gridâs platform by diving deep into our infrastructure and core systems. Youâll evaluate tools, architectures, and design patterns, drive foundational improvements, and ship meaningful changes while thoughtfully managing reliability, risk, and scale.
