In collaboration with the Scientific Director, develops the overall strategic scientific vision for the operations of a specific core with many users and high billings. Maintain the Emory Integrated Flow Cytometry Core (EFCC) facility and oversee day-to-day operations at multiple locations across the Emory campus, including a sorter located in high-containment BSL-3 facility. The primary focus of EFCC is cell sorting. Duties include maintenance of facility records, instruments, and up-to-date instrument operation protocols; staff oversight and training; and students / faculty training to use of analyzer cytometers. Collaborates with faculty on protocols/experimental design/instrument acquisition/instrument configuration and act as a conduit between faculty members and the facility. Work alongside School of Medicine leadership and faculty to successfully run the facility.
