We aim to make the world a better, more connected place. We are seeking an energetic and experienced Copywriter to join our CNN Brand Marketing team. This role will focus on copywriting efforts for our direct-to-consumer subscription businesses across the full funnel. Reporting to the Senior Copywriter, you will work in tandem with them to develop persuasive and impactful copy that enhances the customer journey across all touchpoints, driving brand affinity, conversions and engagement. Please be prepared to submit a portfolio of writing samples on the application.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional copywriting experience, preferably in a direct-to-consumer or subscription-based business.
  • Proven track record of creating effective lower funnel creative that drives conversions.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in using analytics tools to measure and optimize campaign performance.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute compelling copy for direct-to-consumer subscription campaigns, including on and off-platform advertising, social media and other paid and owned channels.
  • Collaborate with marketing, design and product teams to create cohesive and effective messaging strategies.
  • Ideate and develop full funnel creative that drives customer acquisition and retention.
  • Conduct market research and stay up-to-date with industry trends and the news environment to inform enhance copywriting strategies.
  • Support the Senior Copywriter in ensuring all copy aligns with brand voice and guidelines, maintaining consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Analyze campaign performance and use insights to optimize copy and improve conversion rates.
