This position will support the achievement of the College's vision of serving as a regional leader in education and workforce development, offering transformative programs that drive individual growth and shared prosperity. The purpose of this position is to plan, coordinate, implement, and assess all services relating to transfer advising. This is accomplished by staying current on MHEC and COMAR regulations, transfer articulation agreements between Harford Community College and other Maryland and out-of-state colleges and universities, best practices in transfer advising through active participation in professional organizations and staying current on promising transfer practices in the community college sector. Other duties include serving as a liaison between Harford Community College and transfer institutions; coordinating all communications to advisors and other stakeholders regarding course and program articulation; planning, coordinating and executing transfer events and programs including transfer fairs and college visits; and providing academic, transfer and career advising for students including career path options, assessment evaluation, academic success plans and career and life goals. Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.
