About The Position

The primary function of this position is to maintain and manage equipment (such as 3D Printers, scanners, apparel & interior design studio equipment, textile testing equipment) & specialized spaces housed in the Fashion, Interior Design, & Merchandising ( FIDM ) department. This position is also responsible for providing technical assistance and training for faculty & students using spaces.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree
• One year of experience in a technical area using laboratory techniques and equipment
• Possession of a valid driver’s license
• Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff
• Ability to quickly learn emerging technology
• Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete tasks independently and coordinate multiple projects
• Ability to prioritize duties when faced with interruptions and fluctuating workload
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree
• Working knowledge of 3D Printing
• Working knowledge of large-scale plotters
• Familiarity with AI, virtual & augmented reality software and associated equipment
