About The Position

The main purpose of this position is to support the existing behavioral health system in Washington County, Maryland by collaborating with partners and helping to bridge and enhance crisis services. This role focuses on streamlining crisis pathways, strengthening coordination with current programs, and assisting in the integration of additional crisis service components as they develop. This position will work closely with various community partners, including those involved in mobile overdose crisis support and crisis center services. This position also provides supervision to the Mobile Overdose Response Team, which serves high-risk and vulnerable populations experiencing substance use, mental health, and co-occurring disorders, along with related challenges directly connected to social determinants of health—such as homelessness, active substance use, and limited medical engagement. Lastly, this position will also supervise and assume the role of Project Manager for the Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) program.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • Two years of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources.
  • Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health-related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
