About The Position

Friends University is seeking to fill the Coordinator of Residential Development – Upper-class position in Wichita Kansas. This position is responsible for providing leadership, supervision, and developmental educational opportunities within residential communities. Responsibilities will include Assisting in the selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of multiple resident assistants and senior resident assistants. This includes on-going mentoring and supervision throughout the academic year. Develop, organize, and plan educational and social programs for residents – independently and in coordination with other residence life staff Provide support, counsel, and referrals to residential students, including responding to early alert reports, intervention in crisis situations and mediation. Serves as a member of the “after hours” emergency response rotation. Monitors students conduct and implement Residence Life policies and procedures. QualificationsMust have experience organizing, supervising, and working with student groups and staff members, and have a working knowledge of college student development theories and counseling skills. In addition, managerial, administrative, and human relations skills are necessary. Computer proficiency required (MS Office products preferred). A bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a human service field (psychology, social work, education, etc.) Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills are necessary. Requirements
