About The Position

The Patient Account Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, billing, collection, and account resolution functions for assigned Hospital/Facility account receivables in order to maintain positive cash flow and reduce accounts receivables and A/R days, in compliance with all applicable federal and facility policy and regulations. Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • At least two years as a patient account representative whose responsibilities included all job duties for claim resolution to include billing, follow up, payer disputes and appeals.
  • Government Patient Account Coordinator must have 2+ years as a Medicare patient account representative and familiarization with CMS websites to include Novistasphere and FISS.
  • Speed and accuracy with keyboard and calculator, and computer experience.
  • Requires six months on-the-job training.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance issues, uniform billing requirements, HIPAA transaction code sets, state and federal collection law, and payer contractual relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced courses in computer, office or public relations preferred.
  • CRCS-I preferred.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
