About The Position

The Coordinator of Orientation and Events will report to the Director of Orientation and Events. This position will responsible for the communication and logistic efforts within the Office of Orientation and Events. This position will utilize a CRM system to assist in the planning and implementation of recruitment events and new student Orientation program. This position will supervise student workers within the office. Salary Grade : 13 Please see Staff Compensation Structure or Skilled Crafts and Service Maintenance Compensation Schedule for salary ranges. For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 0-2 years' experience
  • Excellent administrative, organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills, including experience in supervision.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, teamwork, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Independent self-starter with strong work ethic.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Slate Technolutions software, and other similar CRM systems.

Responsibilities

  • Primary staff member overseeing email and phone communication, as well as coverage of the phone and email.
  • Utilize CRM (Slate) system and other technologies needed to coordination with the event planning. This includes the collaboration and planning of all pre-and post-event communications.
  • Responsible for Orientation logistics and planning including event management, room reservations, meal planning, AV needs, and accommodations.
  • Responsible for information/instructional media with the Marketing team and MSU TV Center for Orientation
  • Updating communication plans and website content
  • Partner with with Division of Student Affairs and ITS on updates
  • Partner with Transportation (parking, golf carts, shuttles) on need with events and Orientation
  • Oversee the Campus Partner and Servies Fair with Orientation sessions
  • Partner with Special Population groups for Orientation (ACCESS, Promise Program, Summer Bridge, CFR, etc.)
  • Serving on the individual interview community for Orientation Leader selection
  • Attend Orientation Leader professional development trips, community service projects, and semesterly meetings
  • Attend and participate in the Orientation Leader Retreat
  • Supervision of student workers within the Office of Orientation and Events
  • Other tasks related to Orientation
