About The Position

As a member of the Student Career Preparedness office within the broader Student Success Center, the Coordinator of Student Internships supports the development, coordination, and expansion of experiential learning opportunities that strengthen student retention, persistence, and career readiness. To accomplish these goals, the Internship Coordinator establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employers, department staff, students, faculty, and alumni, ensuring alignment and collaboration across the experiential learning ecosystem. Additionally, this role will assist in developing processes to track and assess internship engagement across campus, contributing to data-informed decision-making around student support opportunities. The Internship Coordinator plays a key role in supporting East Texas A&M University’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) and Student Success initiatives related to career readiness and experiential learning. Through collaborative outreach, student support, and coordination of internship processes, this position helps ensure students gain meaningful opportunities that connect academic learning to practical, real-world experiences. This is a grant-funded position. The anticipated duration of funding is a minimum of two and a half (2.5) years, aligned with the grant timeline. Continued employment is contingent upon renewed grant funding or restricted funds.
