About The Position

The School of Medicine on the Macon, Georgia campus is searching for a Coordinator of Student Affairs. Responsibilities: The Coordinator of Student Affairs will coordinate the administration of student affairs functions of the School of Medicine, Macon campus, as well as for the functions of the School of Medicine, Carrollton campus. The coordinator will assist in the planning and execution of the following events on the Macon campus: MS1 orientation, Doctoral and Masters Hooding Ceremonies, Match Day Ceremony, White Coat Ceremony, Class Picnics, Primary Care Week Activities, and other Student Affairs events throughout the year. The coordinator will assist in the planning and execution of the following events on the Carrollton campus: MD Hooding Ceremony, Match Day Ceremony, Class Picnics, and other Student Affairs activities. Additionally, this position will coordinate with all of the Deans of Students Affairs to ensure that the students receive Student Support Services regardless of their preclinical campus. The coordinator will collect and maintain data for Medical Student Performance Evaluations (MSPEs) for Macon campus and Carrollton campus students. This position works closely with the Macon campus Dean of Student Affairs to schedule individual student counseling meetings. The coordinator will manage Student Interest Group Activities and the budget for the Macon and Carrollton campuses. This position works closely with the Director of Student Affairs, Student Affairs Coordinators on other MUSM campuses, Student Affairs Deans and MUSM Dean’s Office. Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university and one year of administrative office support experience, which must include activity/event planning experience, are required. In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education and/or experience will also be considered. Must have experience with Microsoft Word and Excel to formulate and edit professional letters and documents and maintain various program-based databases. Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to organize a variety of special events.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university and one year of administrative office support experience, which must include activity/event planning experience, are required. In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education and/or experience will also be considered.
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Word and Excel to formulate and edit professional letters and documents and maintain various program-based databases.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to organize a variety of special events.
  • Proficient in computer use with the ability to learn new computer-based and web-based applications used for data collection and management.
  • Skilled in preparing, formatting, and uploading documents of student information.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and interact professionally with applicants, students, faculty, and external partners while performing administrative duties.
  • Ability to independently follow and carry out instructions.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written forms.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of student records and Student Affairs information in accordance with institutional policies and privacy standards.
