Under the general supervision of the Director of Student Life & Housing and Student Affairs campus leadership, the Coordinator of Student Activities & Engagement coordinates student activities and engagement. Requirements

  • Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position. Examples may include a Bachelor’s Degree with two years of work related experience or an Associate degree with four years of experience; or equivalent education and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the functions of the position.
  • Knowledge of event management, marketing strategies, student mentorship, and advising practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team leader/mentor, and strong organizational and prioritization skills, and strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with students, employees, and community members of all backgrounds.
  • Successful completion of a background check including motor vehicles records report will be required.
  • Incumbents in this position will adhere to safety and compliance policies of Colorado Mountain College while performing all duties assigned.
  • Will require travel and a varied work schedule including long days, evening and weekend hours.
  • The position is 100% in-person.
  • Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license.
  • Preferred candidates are also willing to drive a CMC high occupancy vehicle, which requires a minimum age of 25 years old (due to insurance requirements).

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and implement all student related programming that supports their overall well-being, including physical, mental and social activities & programs, which includes special events, overnight trips, workshops, speakers, etc.
  • Develop and provide publicity, including email communications, text messaging, monitor slides, social media and fliers; must be proficient in graphic design platforms (i.e. Canva)
  • Maintain and publish calendar of student activities and events
  • Promote, advise, and support new and existing student clubs & organizations
  • Ensure safety and security of students and facilities during activities/special events
  • Monitor club budgets and maintain an accurate record of all student activity spending
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Student Government Association
  • Coordinate, organize and oversee the daily operations of the Student Activity Office, multiple activity spaces, and storage areas
  • Address & report student conduct during student activities/special events
  • Hire, train and supervise work study and/or part-time staff
  • During the summer, assist with campus operations which may include Student Services front desk, student outreach, campus tours, visit days, and campus events
  • Other duties as assigned
