About The Position

Assists in the administration and coordination of services that are provided to our partners that serve low-income seniors. The Greater Cleveland Food Bank’s senior programs include: congregate and home delivered meal programs, produce distributions at senior-friendly locations, and other state and federal food programs that serve seniors including the Commodity Supplemental Food Program and Emergency Feeding Programs. This position helps increase the number of seniors we serve through new and existing partnerships. Coordinates the relationship between the Food Bank and its partners that serve seniors in addition to agency partners receiving food from our Greater Cleveland Food Bank warehouse. This position ensures excellent customer service by continually and effectively responding to the needs of seniors,senior partners, and other member agencies. This position will also work collaboratively with all other staff to ensure consistent and excellent customer satisfaction and service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; and 2-3 years related experience and/or training in human services or customer service; or equivalent combination of education and experience, which is generally a high school diploma or GED and 4-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Unencumbered State Driver’s License required.
  • Must be willing and able to travel (mostly locally) for the organization.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor and other members of the Agency Services team.
  • Willingness to work beyond normal working hours, when necessary.
  • Proficiency in Windows based computer software with an emphasis on spreadsheets, word processing required.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Adaptable to change.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups of people.
  • Required commitment to making interactions across different cultures and backgrounds a strength of our organization as demonstrated through work, life or community experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous nonprofit customer service, program coordination, and database management experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with organizations that serve seniors/aging population a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality customer service to CSFP and Senior Market partners and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Assist with training and onboarding for CSFP and Senior Market partners.
  • Support the administration of the CSFP distribution at the Community Resource Center
  • Supports the facilitation of orientations for new partner agencies and contacts, emphasizing program guidelines and best practices.
  • Work closely with community partners to ensure timely application processing and renewal for CSFP customers.
  • Work closely with Volunteer Services to ensure volunteer coverage for home deliveries, senior shopping day, and monthly CSFP intake.
  • Process CSFP applications according to federal guidelines, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Responsible for providing oversight of timeliness of monthly Senior Program Statistical Reports
  • Serve as the department’s PantryTrak lead, assisting partner agencies with training and troubleshooting.
  • Support efforts of the Food Bank’s strategic initiatives of providing more meals to low-income seniors.

  • Track agency issues and concerns.
  • Prepare email communication and other messaging to partners that serve seniors about important updates and changes.
  • Provides backup when needed by coordinating emails to partner agencies regarding product promotion and various agency correspondence when requested.
  • Assist with conducting site visits.
  • Actively support and champion initiatives aimed at driving continuous improvement throughout the organization. May participate in one of the following: LEAN council, a kaizen, 5S campaign or other process improvement efforts to support continuous improvement and improved processes within the food bank.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Assist in resolving meal-related issues with partner agencies to ensure timely daily meal service.
  • Assist Manager of Senior Programs in internal audits of the CSFP and TEFAP contracts to monitor compliance and ensure program integrity.
  • Assist the Manager of Senior Programs in compiling data for various reports, including agency-specific reporting.
  • Work closely with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank Kitchen and fleet to ensure quality delivery of meal service to senior serving organizations.
