About The Position

The Coordinator of Outreach & Donor Relations supports stewardship, recognition, and annual giving programs, fostering a culture of appreciation and engagement with donors, alumni, and the Fort Lewis College community. Reporting to the Director of Outreach & Donor Relations and working closely with the Director of Alumni Engagement, this person supports development and implementation of impactful donor and alumni communications, consistent gift documentation, and assists in annual giving and donor stewardship efforts highlighting the Foundation's and Advancement team’s priorities. They manage processes that promote transparency, honor donor intent, and align with FLC’s mission and strategic plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience
  • Two years of experience in operations, professional writing, communication/public relations, fundraising, events management, marketing/sales, or a related field
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects, and initiatives simultaneously
  • Intermediate skills with computers and CRMs or customer-focused databases
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated outstanding customer service

  • Experience with email marketing platforms and other digital tools
  • Competence in social media marketing, including campaign management and content creation

Responsibilities

  • Communications and Donor Relations Support a comprehensive communications strategy that engages the FLC community, highlighting the impact of giving and FLC initiatives
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the FLC Foundation's strategic audiences, including alumni, donors, students, faculty, staff, and community members, as well as industry best practices for engaging these groups
  • Create content for multiple platforms, including newsletters, social media, emails, and print publications, to engage alumni, celebrate their achievements, and showcase donor impact
  • Manage the FLC Alumni Engagement social media presence, including content creation, scheduling, and audience engagement, in alignment with alumni and donor engagement goals
  • Create and support donor and alumni recognition and stewardship activities, ensuring alignment with the college’s goals and values
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of communication initiatives, monitor engagement metrics, and support with adjusting strategies to improve outcomes
  • Assist in the implementation of automated communication workflows
  • Manage annual giving initiatives promoting donor and alumni participation and engagement
  • Engage alumni as a strategic priority in annual giving by creating opportunities that encourage new and ongoing support
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the donor pipeline and lifecycle, and provide support for strategies that encourage donor acquisition and retention
  • Partner with campus stakeholders to promote annual giving programs and fundraising tools, and encourage student participation in these efforts
  • Support large recurring annual giving campaigns
  • Track and analyze solicitations and campaign performance, adjusting strategies to meet goals
  • Support development and maintenance of FLC Foundation and Gift Documentation Processes
  • Manage scholarship gift agreement procedures, documentation, and updates in coordination with the Office of Financial Aid
  • Audit funds and gift agreements to ensure compliance with current laws and Advancement and FLC Foundation policies
  • Engage campus partners with scholarship and fund management training and promotion, and in scholarship awarding process
  • Support database integrity and optimize use of CRMs and digital tools
  • Identify opportunities for development officers to engage donors to renew and increase scholarship gifts
  • Supervise and train student workers, coordinating projects and ongoing responsibilities
  • Monitor progress and timely completion of all assigned projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Benefits

  • Compensation The salary range for this position is $ $54,000 to $57,500, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
