About The Position

Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in music therapy or its equivalent is required (individuals who are working toward a master’s degree may be considered). Knowledge of music therapy clinical practices in medical, skilled nursing, and mental health settings is required. Ability to demonstrate music therapy-related skills and abilities (musical skills, therapeutic skills, etc.) is required. Current Board Certification as a music therapist (MT-BC credential) is required.

  • Willingness to learn and adhere to University of Pacific Conservatory (including music therapy program) policies and protocols.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate a sense of professional responsibility.
  • Working knowledge of computers and other applicable technology.
  • Professional and/or internship experience in a medical setting strongly preferred.
  • Music therapy student/intern supervisory experience preferred.
  • Research experience is preferred.
  • Training in at least one area of specialized music therapy clinical practice (e.g., BMGIM , NICU -MT, NMT ) is preferred.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
