About The Position

Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in music therapy or its equivalent is required (individuals who are working toward a master’s degree may be considered). Knowledge of music therapy clinical practices in medical, skilled nursing, and mental health settings is required. Ability to demonstrate music therapy-related skills and abilities (musical skills, therapeutic skills, etc.) is required. Current Board Certification as a music therapist (MT-BC credential) is required.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively.
Ability to work independently and demonstrate a sense of professional responsibility.
Working knowledge of computers and other applicable technology.
Professional and/or internship experience in a medical setting strongly preferred.
Music therapy student/intern supervisory experience preferred.
Research experience is preferred.
Training in at least one area of specialized music therapy clinical practice (e.g., BMGIM , NICU -MT, NMT ) is preferred.
Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
