About The Position

The Student Wellness and Health Promotion Coordinator is a full-time position within the University Mental Health and Wellness Center at the University of Texas Permian Basin. The Student Wellness and Health Promotion Coordinator provides administrative support for the University Mental Health and Wellness Center, provides programmatic support for the Collegiate Recovery Program and BASICS (Brief Alcohol and Other Drugs Screening and Intervention for College Students) program, Eliminate Tobacco Use, Bystander Intervention Initiative, and interpersonal and sexual violence prevention programming. Furthermore, the Student Wellness and Health Promotion Coordinator will assist in the development of a chemical dependency group curriculum.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field
  • One (1) year relevant work experience
  • Experience will be considered in lieu of education

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor
  • Excellent administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to function effectively and collaboratively on a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience working with program planning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and clerical support for the University Mental Health and Wellness Center.
  • Ensure the maintenance of accurate record-keeping practices.
  • Prepare reports as required.
  • Manage and oversee databases effectively.
  • Facilitate the scheduling process for Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) clients.
  • Deliver programmatic support for the Collegiate Recovery Program.
  • Assist with BASICS (Brief Alcohol and Other Drugs Screening and Intervention for College Students). Contribute to initiatives aimed at eliminating tobacco use.
  • Support the Bystander Intervention Initiative.
  • Aid in programming designed to prevent interpersonal and sexual violence.
  • Aid in the development of a curriculum for a chemical dependency group.
  • Collaborate with CAPS staff to design groups, workshops, and events that emphasize recovery, chemical dependency, and overall well-being.
