Wellness Center Coordinator

About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for coverage in the Wellness Center Café, Wellness Center Childcare and Pool. This position will also provide customer service, information and assistance to customers of the Health and Wellness Center. This position schedule is Tuesday-Friday 10am-7pm. Saturday 8am-5pm. Off on Sunday and Monday.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
Food Handler’s permit (current or within 30 days of selection).
Safe food handling practices experience and cashier experience.
CPR / First Aid / Lifeguard Certification / Water Safety Instructor certified. (current or within first 30 days of hire).
One year of childcare experience for children 6-weeks to 12 years of age.
Customer Service: Models excellent customer service skills and behavior that is courteous, respectful, helpful and resourceful. Demonstrates and encourages a positive attitude and approach when dealing with customers and staff.
Communication skills: Demonstrates good verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Active listener. Speaks clearly and uses a clear tone. Written communication is clear, complete, and legible.
Conflict management: Works to resolve conflict in a courteous manner. Remains calm and professional in all interactions.
Dependability and reliability: Good follow through with tasks assigned. Keeps supervisor informed of progress/status of projects.
Cultural competency: Able to work with various ethnicities in a positive manner. Promotes an environment of honor and respect regarding cultural differences.
Organization: Keeps area clean, organized and free of clutter.
Confidentiality: Strong knowledge of code of ethics and privacy principles, understanding and application of HIPAA Laws and regulations.
Computer/cashier skills: Basic computer skills and ability to operate cash register.
Proficient emergency / rescue skills, customer service skills, effective communication skills, conflict management, dependability and reliability, cultural competency / sensitivity, organization skills, knowledge of HIPPA laws and regulations, basic computer skills.
A valid Washington State driver’s license is required at the time of appointment or at a time set by the Tribe.

Responsibilities

Knowledgeable about all Health and Wellness Center Departments (Managers and Front line staff) and their functions and responsibility.
Prepares food and beverages according to proper policy and procedure.
Monitors inventory of supplies and informs supervisor when ordering/restock is needed.
Consistently maintains cash drawer and reports discrepancies in a timely manner, according to policy/procedure.
Completes all duties on daily cleaning schedules and opening/closing procedures.
Gives tours to groups or individuals.
Serves as a resource for the members with questions about the Health and Wellness Center programs, policies, and services.
Answers incoming calls, forwards calls professionally and efficiently; takes accurate messages as needed.
Promotes Health and Wellness Center events and programs.
Keeps working area and common areas clean, organized and free of clutter.
Assists administration with Health and Wellness Center duties such as mailings, telephone campaigns, etc.
Monitors and interacts with children in the drop-in Childcare area with a positive, enthusiastic and caring attitude.
Interacts appropriately and according to state and local guidelines when disciplining, monitoring or assisting children.
Encourages healthy, positive interaction among children in drop-in Childcare area.
Ensures all toys, equipment and areas meet health, safety and cleanliness guidelines.
Completes checklists for opening/ closing and cleaning duties.
Maintains inventory of equipment, supplies, etc. and informs supervisor when re-ordering of such items is needed.
Enforces usage policies consistently and in a fair manner with all customers.
Follows proper procedure for lifeguarding and other duties with little supervision.
Continually practices lifeguarding and swimming skills.
Ensures pool and Wellness Center policies are being followed and enforces these when needed.
Completes cleaning assignments, follows written procedures for clean-up of any bodily fluid discharge.
Communicates promptly and effectively with Supervisor regarding any incidents or accidents.
Responsible for assisting in training new employees and cross-training current employees.
Handles and resolves member issues or concerns relating to aquatic programs.
Because of the Tribe’s commitment to community service and the well-being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.
