About The Position

Logistics Coordinator Position Summary: The primary function of this position will be to work closely with carriers and forwarders, maintaining applicable databases, preparing documentation for international and domestic shipments, auditing and maintaining files. Tracking shipments, preparing reports, review invoices for approval.

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary Education in Business, Trades, Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • CIFFA or CCS Designation completed or actively working towards it.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experiences in a similar or related role.
  • Experienced with customs/transportation requirements and inbound and outbound border crossing procedures.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Excel, Word and Outlook).
  • Knowledgeable of import/export procedures, freight forwarding, able to secure compliance and operation in agreement with applicable laws are regulations.
  • Able to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms with various levels of the organization and service providers.
  • Excellent attention to details and energetic in all duties, working in a fast-paced environment while shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of shipping documentation for domestic and international inbound and outbound shipments (Parcel, LTL, Air and Ocean)
  • Quoting and selecting best carriers for large inbound and outbound freight increasing cost savings and margin.
  • Track and manage inbound and outbound claims
  • Maintaining files and database records within and outside of the TMS
  • Contacting transportation companies, freight forwarders, booking & tracing shipments.
  • Reviewing/auditing and amending customs entries if applicable.
  • Work with logistics team to ensure proper HS Classification / paperwork is submitted/reported.
  • Maintenance of databases in regard to shipments data, country of origin, HS tariff codes, vendor NAFTA data verification etc.
  • Tracking shipments, preparing reports, review invoices for approval, receiving verification, special projects as required.
  • Participate in training as required to maintain and enhance skill level and support other positions within department.
