Secures grant funding and other financial resources for programs and other juvenile services, provides oversight and supervision of grant and other resource monies, and develops and directs a training program to improve staff development and meet Court objectives. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Chief Juvenile Court Officer. The following duties are normal for this position. Other duties may be required and assigned. Develops state and federal grant funding resources and manages the acquired funding for programs and other Juvenile Court Services. Researches state and federal grant resources for development and maintenance of juvenile court programs and other services. Consults with the Chief Juvenile Court Officer and Coordinator of Program Development and Services to determine programmatic needs of the court to acquire funding resources to meet such needs. Consultation shall include research of juvenile offender programs within and outside the court for revision or development and to make recommendations to the Chief Juvenile Court Officer. Writes grants and other funding requests as approved by the Chief Juvenile Court Officer. Provides oversight and supervision of the expenditures of state and federal grant funds and other funding resources. Prepares periodic written reports showing the status of grant and funding expenditures to properly account for such funding and to ensure disbursement for designated and approved use. Written reports shall be submitted to the Chief Juvenile Court Officer and copied to the Director of Juvenile Court Services. Serves as a primary contact person for state and federal grants and other funding sources and provides a summary of contacts to the Chief Juvenile Court Officer. Directs training of staff to ensure employee development and to meet objectives of the court. Develops and coordinates a training program approved by the Chief Juvenile Court Officer and the Director of Juvenile Court Services that includes annual in-service, basic training for new employees, and training sessions as needed. Prepares written lesson plans using a format approved by the Director of Juvenile Court Services and the Chief Juvenile Court Officer or other personnel related to the subject matter to be presented. All lesson plans shall be approved by the Director of Juvenile Court Services and the Chief Juvenile Court Officer. Maintains lesson plans using procedures set forth by the court for preserving such records. Consults with the Chief Juvenile Court Officer, Director of Juvenile Court Services, and supervisors regarding staff development and training needs. Serves as member of the Policy Review Committee assigned to develop and/or revise policies and procedures of the court and recommend same to the Presiding Judge for approval. Makes speeches and presentations regarding juvenile justice and court operations. Performs other related duties as required.
