About The Position

This position is 100% Grand Funded and subject to annual evaluation. Job Summary: Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Employer Partnership, develop, coordinate and implement internship and experiential learning opportunities for students enrolled at HACC. The incumbent assists students in securing paid and unpaid employment opportunities and work directly with employers, local and regional professionals to create an employment pipeline; provide employment preparation services and job development skills training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years experience related to career education, human resources, or a similar field required.
  • Or, a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, coordinates, and oversees internships and experiential learning opportunities, as well as student employment opportunities aligned with certificate and associate degree programs.
  • Ensures internships and experiential learning opportunities meet learning outcomes and college standards.
  • Coaches and prepares HACC students to enter internships and position them for success.
  • Monitors student progress during internships, providing support and addressing any concerns that arise.
  • Plans, coordinates, and implements internship fairs, networking events, industry presentations, and employer visits that focus on internships and experiential learning.
  • Creates resources, collateral, and materials to help students prepare for and successfully complete internships; solicits input from faculty and academic programs and tailors some resources to target students in specific programs.
  • Identifies and resolves problems, ensures consistent application of rules and regulations, and handles complex and high-level complaints or issues.
  • Manages employer contracts, site evaluation, student employment records and correspondence, and billing
  • Coordinates data collection to assist the AD with the submission of the annual report to the federal government on the number of students for whom positions were located, including student earnings
  • Travels to all HACC locations regularly to conduct meetings and to deliver programming; additional travel to some off-site locations may also be required.
