About The Position

The Yard Coordinator is responsible for managing all trailers indoors and in the yard to support operations. This role’s purpose is to ensure the yard organization to its highest possible level. The yard coordinator will provide great customer support for all incoming and outgoing customers while maintaining best practices that meet the Company’s goals, policies, quality and service expectations. Position Responsibilities may include: Work with Logistics Department to provide logistical support for daily Operations Team.  Work as traffic control to successfully direct the trailers in the yard and doors to ensure good flow and faster service  Communicate effectively with drivers, operations and office personnel effectively and professionally and be able to articulate thoughts and ideas to others.   Complete paperwork, data entry and maintain files in an organized and timely manner.  Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook  Must be flexible in work schedule, including weekends.  Must be willing to work outdoors, including in inclement weather.  Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs. Nature & Scope: Works within well-defined instructions  Uses established procedures and works under supervision to perform assigned tasks   Work is closely supervised  Knowledge & Skills: Ability to work in fast-paced environments with regularly shifting priorities   Advanced transportation skills  Advanced computer system knowledge including MS Office- Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.  Advanced logistics knowledge  High level of attention to detail and accuracy  Effective organizational and time management skills  Strong verbal and written communication and listening skills  Excellent geography skills  PKMS-MINCRON or MAPICS experience preferred  This position requires a professional demeanor and an orientation toward excellent client services  Ability to apply good judgement, strong work ethics and integrity on the job. Competency: Experience: 2 plus years of transportation related environment  Education/Certification: High School diploma or GED preferred People Management: No Physical Requirements / Work Environment: Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations Required to stand, walk, use hands to pick up, handle or feel and reach with arms. Ability to read and analyze written information on a computer terminal. Must be able to lift boxes and/or equipment of up to 25 pounds.
