The Chapel of the Cross, a parish of the Episcopal Church in Chapel Hill, NC, seeks a full-time Coordinator for Worship, Liturgy, and Music, who, under the direction of the Director of Music and Organist, will coordinate the logistics of the parish's liturgical and musical life. Liturgy and worship sit at the heart of our church's weekly rhythm, with our music program being one of the primary ways our community seeks to praise God and form disciples of all ages. We have upwards of five Sunday services that welcome an average of 400+ parishioners and which we achieve with the help of 50+ volunteers each week. Our music program consists of 60 adult singers, 40 choristers ages four through eighteen, and a dozen volunteers who meet for weekly rehearsals and sing at our primary Sunday services. In addition, we have dozens of other special services throughout the year, such as choral evensongs, holiday services, funerals, and more, all of which require additional preparation and support. Collaborating with clergy and other staff, the Coordinator for Worship, Liturgy and Music will play a key role in ensuring the smooth planning and implementation of the abovementioned (from preparation, to coordinating volunteers, to day-of support), and in doing so help the whole community to more fully worship God.
