About The Position

Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking a part time Coordinator for Impact & Engagement who will support the mission of Penn State Athletics and the Nittany360 program by fostering meaningful opportunities for student-athletes to connect with their community, develop leadership and life skills, and understand the impact of their engagement. Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director for Development & Enrichment, this part-time fellowship role will focus on creating and delivering experiences that develop student-athletes as leaders, contributors, and changemakers while also helping to assess and tell the story of their impact. The position is funded through the Big Ten Fellowship Program, designed to provide leadership development experience for emerging professionals interested in college athletics. The 2025–26 fellowship is a part-time role averaging 20-30 hours per week.

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Ability to engage and build relationships with diverse communities and populations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Ability to foster and maintain working relationships with various athletic, University, and external stakeholders
  • A high work ethic, positive attitude, and a growth mindset are required to be successful in this role.

  • This job is a part-time fellowship, working 20-30 hours per week.
  • Evenings and weekends are required.
  • This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
  • This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

  • Experience with event planning, volunteer coordination, or service-based programming.
  • Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate student-athlete community service and engagement opportunities
  • Build partnerships with local organizations and campus groups for volunteer and civic programming
  • Plan and support events that foster student-athlete belonging, leadership, and service
  • Support the collection and analysis of impact metrics to assess student-athlete engagement and program outcomes
  • Assist in developing storytelling and promotional materials (social media, newsletters, recaps) that elevate Student-Athlete impact
  • Collaborate with staff across Development & Enrichment to deliver initiatives focused on purpose, impact, and career readiness
  • Contribute to the unit’s strategic priorities through innovation, research, and collaboration on emerging trends in student-athlete development and the evolving landscape of college athletics
