About The Position

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Coordinator of Finance. - Boca Raton, FL. This position plays a vital role in supporting the financial and administrative operations of the department by ensuring accurate, efficient, and compliant management of budgets, expenses, and revenue.

Requirements

  • A master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and processes Activity & Service and Student Union purchase requests.
  • Evaluates and provides feedback/recommendations regarding departmental financial procedures.
  • Oversees/administers expense control including the preliminary review of expense justification requests, purchase requisitions, purchase card and payment requests for completeness, correctness, and necessity of purchase.
  • Evaluates spend categories and budget balances.
  • Maintains expense control subsidiary ledgers for department accounts and ensures that all expense logs are maintained by staff and reconciled in a timely manner.
  • Analyzes invoices to be paid for accuracy.
  • Logs deposits, billing and invoicing for revenue collection.
  • Provides weekly updates on revenue collection.
  • Enters journals into Workday to recognize revenue from other departments and enters other journals as needed.
  • Assists with maintaining accurate balances of departmental open/blanket purchase orders.
  • Completes the reconciliation of all accounts.
  • Assists with the compilation of the monthly financial reports for all accounts to provide to account managers.
  • Provides financial updates to the department's staff, Assistant Director of Finance, advisory board and other department stakeholders as needed.
  • Provides monthly updates of expenses to the Student Union Director and reports any concerns to the Assistant Director of Finance.
  • Enters Requisitions into Workday and ensures that POs are created, and invoices are approved and paid in a timely manner.
  • Assists with Audit Compliance of financial and administrative procedures.
  • Assists with supervising and training Student Assistants.
  • Uses University and supplemental software to complete tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
