About The Position

St. Luke's is expanding with a new, state-of-the-art Heart Hospital at its Anderson Campus, set to open in Fall 2026. This expansion will add 150 inpatient beds, 10 operating rooms, and 10 interventional suites, strengthening St. Luke's leadership in cardiology and tertiary services. The Anderson Campus is a nationally recognized teaching hospital and a designated 100 Top Hospital, featuring a Trauma Center and advanced tertiary obstetrics program. The Coordinator, Environmental Services, will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and implementing the scheduled work activities of the Environmental Services staff. This role involves monitoring assigned areas, observing the quality and effectiveness of departmental employees, and ensuring the general cleaning of the hospital environment to achieve the quality results outlined in the Department Mission Statement. This is a full-time night shift position.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalency
  • Three to six months of experience in housekeeping in either a hospital or institutional setting

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the opening of the shift assigning aides to work schedules, issuing keys and pagers in the absence of the supervisor.
  • Coordinates work assignments and delegates work to Environmental Services aides.
  • Actively responds to issues concerning policies and procedures as they relate to Environmental Services aides.
  • Assists in orientation of new employees through training and working with them in assigned area(s).
  • Assists in the planning, monitoring and implementation of the Environmental Services daily functions.
  • Ensuring all discharges and transfers are completed in a timely manner.
  • Assists in performing housekeeping duties during critical staff shortages.
  • Revises work assignments to offset absences or achieve workload demands.
  • Complete quality control inspections and monitors follow-up on results to meet hospital acceptable standards.
