About The Position

The Coordinator, Employer Relations and Office Operations is responsible for assisting with on-campus and virtual recruitment events and will oversee the posting of employment opportunities. Under the direction of the Associate Director for Employer Relations, Technology and Operations, the Coordinator assists in maintaining effective relationships with local, regional, and national employers to increase recruitment of college's students and recent graduates. This position will also provide trainings for student employees and supervisors of student employees. In addition to Employer Relations, this position will provide administrative support for the department by assisting with budget reporting, travel, career fair finances, and operations. Work is performed under general supervision and performance evaluation is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in career services, recruiting, or sales and marketing.
  • Must possess excellent customer service, interpersonal communication, and oral presentation skills.
  • Additional related education may substitute for some of the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.
  • All employees share the responsibility of maintaining information security and privacy requirements within the university by adhering to Federal and State regulations, and TWU Policies & Procedures.
  • Knowledge of office software, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and/or verify information accurately.
  • Ability to coordinate work with other employees, providing direct instruction or supervision as assigned.
  • Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, employers, and the public.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally, by phone, in person, and in writing.
  • Ability to represent the department and University in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Ability to use a personal computer and other office equipment, including related university software and email.

Responsibilities

  • Assists TWU supervisors with signing up for and posting student employee vacancies on TWU Connect/Handshake.
  • Coordinates with Human Resources, Financial Aid, and other stakeholders to provide regular trainings for TWU supervisors on hiring and developing student employees.
  • Coordinates with Human Resources, Financial Aid, and other stakeholders to provide regular trainings for students on how to find a job on campus and how to make the most of their student employment.
  • Assists in coordination in virtual and in-person job, career and internship fairs.
  • Maintains student/employer database and research outcomes/statistics.
  • Works under direction of the Associate Director to establish new employer contacts and strengthen current employer contacts through outreach activities such as cold calls, mass mailings, and visits.
  • Provides regular reports and assists with employer relations assessment efforts.
  • Attends meetings and network at appropriate professional organizations.
  • Responds to employer inquiries via email and phone.
  • Handles career fair finances (includes creating & disseminating invoices, collecting past due balances, and recording all financial transactions related to career fairs).
  • Performs technical clerical work involving the exercise of independent judgment.
  • Formulates procedures and methods in keeping with general policy.
  • Responds to telephone questions and inquiries from visitors on departmental policies and procedures. Composes routine correspondence to students or the general public.
  • Posts budget/bookkeeping information and prepares summary reports.
  • Supports Director and leadership team with administrative tasks, including maintaining budget, office travel records, purchasing supplies, and providing other office operational support.
  • Greets and directs visitors, staff, faculty and students.
  • Provides supervision and directs tasks for Career Connections student employees.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
