About The Position

The Customer Service Coordinator/Driver position is a member of the Operations team. They are responsible for the collection and distribution of essential items out in community via our 18’ box truck. A large emphasis on this position is on safe driving, timely pick-up and delivery of items, and providing quality customer service. The majority of this position’s time is spent out in the community picking up from donation bins or delivering orders to our partners. When not on the road, responsibilities include storage and inventory of products, warehouse maintenance and upkeep, and other tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record
  • Medical clearance for truck and van operation required
  • Previous delivery/driving experience
  • Customer service
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
  • Ability to operate and navigate with a GPS system.
  • The ability to work occasional weekends is a must

  • Warehouse experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Model and lead a positive “One Cradles” culture, underpinned by Cradles’ Cultural Values and related behaviors.
  • Ensure the safe pick-up and delivery of donations from locations throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island to the Cradles to Crayons warehouse in Newton, MA.
  • Properly secure donations from drop-off location into the Cradles to Crayons truck.
  • Accurately track the amount and type of donations being loaded onto the truck and being placed within the warehouse.
  • Ensure the vehicle(s) are loaded correctly and safely for the assigned routes.
  • Monitor the truck to ensure it is properly maintained and operational. Report any issues or concerns to the Associate Director of Operational Initiatives.
  • Maintain a positive and professional relationship with those in the community, including helping partners with receiving their orders and assisting C2C staff at offsite events.
  • Ensure donations in the warehouse are stored properly and safely and that aisles are unobstructed.
  • Perform custodial related activities in warehouses.
  • Assist with warehouse projects and Giving Factory production when requested.
  • Attend special events with the truck as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
