About The Position

Serves as the district's primary multimedia content creator, conceiving, producing, and delivering engaging video, graphic, photographic, and written content for the district website, YouTube channel, social media platforms, internal communications, and other digital channels. This role focuses on visually compelling storytelling that highlights student success, educator excellence, innovative programs, and district initiatives to build community engagement and enhance the district's online presence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Three (3) years of experience in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, television/video production, social media engagement, web development and management; knowledge of community, family, and parental involvement strategies and initiatives.
  • Expertise in video production from concept to final output, including shooting (multi-camera, drone if applicable), lighting, audio, nonlinear editing, and live streaming setup/broadcast.
  • Proficiency with current tools: Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator), Final Cut Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, OBS Studio, Canva Pro, streaming platforms (YouTube Live, Vimeo, etc.), or equivalents; basic motion graphics and animation.
  • Strong photography skills and digital asset management.
  • Excellent script writing, storytelling, and copywriting for digital audiences (SEO, accessibility, inclusive language).
  • Knowledge of YouTube optimization, short-form video trends, social media formats, live streaming best practices, and web content standards.
  • Creative eye for visual design, branding consistency, and audience engagement.
  • Strong project coordination, time management, and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments, including managing vendors/contractors for technical production.
  • Ability to work independently on creative projects while coordinating with the larger communication team.
  • Professional customer service, interpersonal communication, and ability to handle confidential/sensitive topics.
  • Flexibility for non-traditional hours, travel within the district, and on-call availability for live events.
  • Ability to establish and maintain media relationships

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualizes, shoots, edits, and produces high-quality video content, including short-form videos, long-form features, event recaps, student/teacher spotlights, and explainer videos—for YouTube, the district website, social media, and other digital platforms.
  • Creates and designs compelling graphics, infographics, animations, photography, and visual assets using modern tools to support web content, social posts, newsletters, presentations, and promotional campaigns that align with district branding and accessibility standards.
  • Writes scripts, captions, alt text, and SEO-optimized copy for digital content; develops story ideas that showcase district priorities, achievements, and community impact.
  • Leads and coordinates contract, programming, technical support, and assistance in the production of district streaming programs, including School Board meetings.
  • Manages content production workflow, including planning calendars, asset organization, archiving, and metadata tagging for efficient reuse across channels; maintains a digital asset library (photos, videos, graphics).
  • Collaborates with schools, departments, and leadership to capture and produce on-site content at events, classrooms, and initiatives; provides backup photography/videography support as needed. Availability beyond traditional workday hours required.
  • Supports crisis and proactive communications by rapidly producing b-roll, video statements, graphics, and other multimedia assets for the PIO and media relations efforts.
  • Provides guidance and training to school-based staff on content creation basics, tools, and district standards to build capacity for localized digital storytelling.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
