About The Position

EBCAP is seeking a Coordinator for our Congregate Nutrition Program, a key role that ensures older adults across the East Bay have consistent access to nutritious meals, safe and well-run community meal sites, and meaningful opportunities for connection. This position combines program operations, community engagement, volunteer coordination, and day-to-day site support. Its a strong fit for someone who is organized, dependable, and committed to delivering high-quality services to older adults. The Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the operational and compliance components of our congregate meal sites, supported by secure grant funding from the Rhode Island Office of Healthy Aging, through September 30, 2026. This is a full-time, MondayFriday, 8:004:30 role. You will work closely with volunteers, community partners, participants, and our caterer, ensuring each site provides a safe, welcoming, and consistent experience. This is a hands-on position that includes regular travel between meal sites. This position plays an essential part in ensuring that older adults receive not just nutritious meals, but a consistent, dignified, and welcoming experience at each community site. The Coordinator helps sustain a program that directly impacts health, social connection, and quality of life for participants across our region.

Requirements

  • Experience in community nutrition, human services, volunteer or program coordination, or related roles.
  • Strong data entry and record management skills.
  • Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role (lifting up to 25 lbs, regular walking/standing, transporting supplies).
  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel between sites.
  • Willingness to obtain food safety certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in nutrition, human services, or work with older adults.
  • Experience using SAMS or similar data tracking systems.
  • Ability to speak Spanish, Portuguese, or Cape Verdean Creole.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily meal counts, change forms, documentation, and timely submissions to the caterer.
  • Maintain accurate participant records in SAMS/WellSky and ensure all documentation is audit-ready.
  • Complete required state reports, invoices, and nutritional program documentation.
  • Monitor meal sites for food safety, donation-handling standards, and operational compliance.
  • Conduct regular visits to meal sites to support volunteers, assess processes, and resolve issues.
  • Oversee donation management, ensuring ethical practices and accurate reconciliation.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between meal sites, volunteers, participants, the caterer, and internal teams.
  • Deliver nutrition and health education workshops (such as Healthy Eating or Bingocize).
  • Provide SNAP outreach and assist eligible participants with applications.
  • Facilitate quarterly Project Council meetings to gather and report participant and volunteer feedback.
  • Support coordination of the restaurant model program and ensure consistent delivery of services.
