About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of related experience; or a master's degree in appropriate area of specialization.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with a multicultural student population
• Knowledge of academic support services and resources available on campus
• Familiarity with student development theory and best practices in academic coaching
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with students
• Commitment to promoting student success and retention

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree preferred
• Two years experience working in higher education, particularly in academic advising or coaching.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized academic coaching and guidance to students to help them achieve their academic goals and maximize their educational potential
• Utilize analytical insights, degree academic planning tools, and various technology tools to deliver consistently high-quality services to FAMU students
• Build relationships and listens to undergraduate students as they develop/monitor degree plans and assist with registration and enrolment campaigns.
