About The Position

Under general direction, responsible for monitoring and overseeing school budgets withinm the unit. Serves as a technical resource to other Unit team members in supporting the budgetary, financial, and position management support of schools. Responsible for monitoring, overseeing and processing transactions for school budgets, travel, purchase, and positions requests primarily from general fund and activity fund budgets. Ensures maximum impact of fiscal recourses and facilitates compliance to federal, state, and local guidelines and policies. Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting or other finance, data analysis, or technology related field.
  • 3+ years
  • SAP preferred, Microsoft Office, Office equipment (e.g., computer, copier)
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to implement effective workflow processes and procedures; follow chain of command
  • Willingness to take initiative, high level of self-motivation, and easily works independently or as part of a team

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Directly support schools within the unit on budget, purchasing, payroll, activity funds, travel and other fiscal support needs. Coordinate work between and among units and central office departments.
  • Process position control actions for the unit.
  • Review purchase requests and create shopping carts for schools.
  • Coordinate completion of goods receipts to ensure prompt payment of vendor invoices.
  • Review and enter travel requests for schools.
  • Review final travel receipts for compliance to the financial procedures manual.
  • Review and enter procard transaction allocations.
  • Performs school budget analysis, reporting, ensure account coding compliance and best practices processes to maximize the impact of fiscal resources and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local procedures and guidelines.
  • Assists the Director 1 Finance & Accounting Services - Division with monthly school spending variance and projections reports.
  • Prepares compliance reports required by federal, state, and local agencies. Fulfill state and national compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Provides technical support to team members in the monitoring and maintaining of budgetary and staffing controls for schools. Troubleshoots problems and provides corrective actions to facilitate a smooth operation in support of school and district goals and action plans.
  • Provides budgetary support, compilation, and balancing to unit campuses in the annual budget development and amendement process.
  • Responsible for developing, monitoring and refining of KPI’s for the role and the unit.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
