About The Position

These positions are Co-op Students in the Maintenance department (I&C, Electrical, Meter & Relay) at the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant in Glen Rose, Texas. Key Roles & Responsibilities: Must maintain an environment conducive to personnel, plant, and public safety. Employ a high standard of quality in work they perform. Assist in the safe performance of preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and systems. Adhere to procedures and guidelines. Report to work place with the right attitude and provide feedback for continuous improvement. Promotes teamwork and is open and responsive to new ideas.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a two-year degree program (Instrument and Control, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical); at least two semesters completed satisfactorily
• Self-starter with a driven attitude.
• Good technical writing skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Basic PC skills.
• Professional work ethic.
• Strong desire to learn and ability to acquire new skills.
• Able to apply knowledge to new situations.
• Has confidence in their ability to make the right decisions, or if unsure asking for directions before proceeding.
• Ability to adapt and excel in a strict compliance based environment.
• Occasional Long/Irregular Hours.
• Work around energized (mostly low voltage) and in-service plant equipment.
• Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs; occasional climbing with body harness.
• Both indoor and outdoor industrial settings.
• Use of a computer terminal and/or telephone.
