About The Position

Club SciKidz MD offers science, technology and cooking summer camps for children ages 4-15 years in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Howard, and Montgomery counties. We are hiring Jr. Counselors and Assistants to work in our cooking camps in Howard County. This position is for high school graduating seniors and students (at least 16 years old). Our cooking camps are held at different locations in Howard County from June 22nd -August 15th. Locations are in Ellicott City, Columbia, and North Laurel. Our camps run Monday-Friday, and staff are scheduled by the week. Staff hours are approximately 8:30am-4:30pm. Pay for high schoolers starts at $460 per week and pay for college students starts at $500 and is dependent on their grade/year in school, experience working with kids and experience with baking, cooking and basic kitchen skills. We are looking for folks who: Enjoy working with and want to gain more experience working with children Enjoy cooking and baking and have basic cooking and baking skills Want to help children learn and have a fun cooking camp experience Are reliable & hard working; have reliable transportation Can commit to work at least four weeks between June 22nd -August 15th Daily responsibilities include: Supervising campers Helping counselors & instructors implement the lessons and activities . Helping keep all areas clean, dishes washed, floors swept and ingredients & supplies organized Helping keep kids engaged, while maintaining a safe environment Have fun with what you are doing Being on time every day for your required shifts (you are scheduled by the week, so you work a whole week (Monday-Friday) for the weeks you are scheduled) Working with other staff to provide an excellent camp experience Why work for Club SciKidz this summer? Requirements
